In wake of mass shootings, Republican Party platforms calls for expanded rights for gun owners

This article is about Republican party's platform is about protecting gun owners' rights. The news says that "says gun bearers don’t have to retreat if they feel threatened in a public place". This shows well what the republican party is trying to say. Many others were surprised about this platform, and even David Keene, president of the National Rifle Association, said "this year’s Republican platform is even stronger in terms of dedicating a major party to the protection of the Second Amendment."

I think protecting gun owners' rights are not necessary. Protecting blacks', or women's rights are necessary because they didn't choose to be so. However, gun owners choose to have a gun. If they don't like unfairness, they can be treated fairly by just not having a gun. So i think it is unnecessary to protect gun owners' right.

Are unmarried women the key to the election?

T
his article said that nowadays unmarried women population is increasing, and historically they didn't participated to the election. So if a candidate convince unmarried women and get support from them, he may win the election.

As the article says, i think to convince unmarried women or every young men is the most important and effective thing to do before an election. Defining young men as 18~29, their population takes a lot of parts in US. Only among those who has suffrage, except too old people, who seems will not vote, their percentage may grow even larger. So I think to win the election, candidates or parties should convince and persuade young men first.
